84 Inch Round Tablecloth: Which Round Tables It Fits

Round tables come in three sizes you will actually meet — 48 in, 60 in and 72 in across — and they are all 30 in tall. We stock one round size: 84 in. Here is exactly what it does on each of them, and where it stops working.

The formula

Cover diameter minus table diameter, divided by two, is the drop. An 84 in cover on a 60 in table gives (84 − 60) ÷ 2 = 12 in of drop.

The 60 in row is why this size exists: it is the round table in most event halls and rented venues, and 12 in of drop is what a banquet cloth gives on it.

Where 84 in stops working

On a 72 in round, an 84 in cover only reaches 6 in past the edge and will not stay put once plates land on it. There is also no rectangle that saves you: a 54 in wide cloth cannot span a 72 in top at all. If your venue runs 72 in rounds you need a bigger round cloth than we list — tell us the table size on the contact page and we will say honestly what we can and cannot do, rather than sell you a cover that creeps up mid-service.

Covering rectangular tables instead?

If your hall mixes rounds and 8 ft folding tables, a 54 × 108 in cover handles the rectangles and the 84 in round handles the rounds. The folding-table size chart covers the rectangle side in detail.

How many round covers to buy

One per table per sitting, plus twenty percent. Ten rounds means twelve covers. Round tables are usually the first to be re-clothed between a ceremony and a dinner, so if the room turns over, budget two per table.

Colour and pattern

Twenty solid shades and nine printed designs, in 3, 6, 10 and 20 packs. Solids are the safe call for mixed events; for a themed party the printed designs carry the room on their own, which is cheaper than dressing an entire dessert table.
